L'objectif des auteurs est ici de voir dans quelle mesure des facteurs autres que les prix des produits de base et de l'énergie ont contribué à la dépréciation du dollar canadien depuis le début des années 1970. Les variables prises en compte à cette fin incluent entre autres les conditions budgétaires et la productivité. -
Financial Intermediaries and the Macroeconomy: Evidence from a High-Frequency Identification
Nous fournissons des résultats empiriques concernant les effets sur l’économie globale de nouvelles inattendues liées à la valeur nette d’intermédiaires financiers. Pour ce faire, nous employons une stratégie d’identification des chocs financiers à l’aide de données de haute fréquence. Nous estimons qu’une baisse inattendue de 1 % de la valeur nette des intermédiaires entraîne une diminution de 0,2 à 0,4 % de la valeur de marché des sociétés non financières. -

Rapport sur la politique monétaire – Avril 2009
Dans un contexte de forte incertitude prolongée, la récession qui a frappé l’économie mondiale s’est intensifiée et est devenue plus synchronisée depuis la parution de la Mise à jour du Rapport sur la politique monétaire en janvier, et l’activité a diminué plus qu’escompté dans tous les grands pays industrialisés.
Errata : Veuillez prendre note que la source du Graphique 1 (page 4) est Global Insight, et non la Banque du Canada. En outre, dans le Graphique 15 (page 21), l'année de base de l'indice de taux de change effectif du dollar canadien (TCEC) hors dollar É.-U. devrait être 1992=100, plutôt que 1997=100.

Près de l’état stationnaire, ces intermédiaires peuvent obtenir du financement par émission d’actions à coût nul, au moyen des bénéfices non répartis. -
Technology Adoption in Input-Output Networks
Nous étudions l’influence des réseaux d’entrées-sorties sur le rythme d’adoption des technologies. En particulier, nous modélisons la décision d’adopter le langage de programmation Python 3 pour des progiciels. Python 3 propose des fonctions avancées, mais son installation ne permet pas un retour à la version Python 2, ce qui en soi représente un coût d’adoption. -
