Privacy in CBDC technology
La confidentialité est une considération essentielle dans la création d’un éventuel système de monnaie numérique de banque centrale. Nous présentons différents outils techniques permettant de mettre en œuvre divers modèles de protection de la confidentialité tout en respectant les règlements applicables. Nous élaborons un cadre pour évaluer ces modèles et dressons une liste des principaux risques et compromis liés à la conception d’un système confidentiel. -
On the Wedge Between the PPI and CPI Inflation Indicators
Nous constatons que l’IPC et l’IPP ont évolué pratiquement en parallèle tout au long de la fin du 20e siècle, mais que leur corrélation a considérablement diminué depuis le début des années 2000. Nous proposons une explication structurelle de cette divergence fondée sur la croissance des chaînes d’approvisionnement mondiales depuis 2000. Cette découverte offre une perspective unique pour la conception future de politiques monétaires optimales. -
Assembling a Real-Financial Micro-Dataset for Canadian Households
L'absence de microdonnées regroupant les informations sur les bilans des ménages canadiens et leurs dépenses a sensiblement entravé la recherche empirique sur les liens entre variables réelles et variables financières dans le secteur des ménages. Les auteurs cherchent à combler cette lacune en fusionnant les données sur les bilans des ménages tirées de l'enquête Canadian Financial Monitor et celles provenant de l'Enquête sur les dépenses des ménages. -
Rollover Risk and the Maturity Transformation Function of Banks
Les auteurs montrent qu’en cherchant à limiter leur exposition au risque de refinancement, les banques qui recourent massivement au financement à court terme assurent moins leur fonction de transformation des échéances. Ces banques raccourcissent non seulement la durée de leur portefeuille de prêts, mais aussi celle des prêts nouvellement accordés. -

Price Selection
Dans cette étude, nous proposons un moyen simple, qui ne recourt à aucun modèle, de mesurer la sélection des prix et sa contribution à la dynamique de l’inflation. La mesure proposée est fondée sur les covariations observées entre l’inflation et le niveau moyen à partir duquel les prix s’ajustent. -

Errata : Des erreurs factuelles contenues dans le rapport de juin intitulé « Activités de surveillance menées par la Banque du Canada en 2007 en application de la Loi sur la compensation et le règlement des paiements » ont été corrigées. Elles concernaient : 1) la responsabilité première qu'assume la Réserve fédérale américaine au regard de la surveillance de la CLS Bank et 2) les mesures prises par la CDS le 14 août 2007 afin d'aider les émetteurs de PCAA en souffrance et les participants détenant ces titres.
