Les facteurs derrière les pressions à la hausse sur le taux CORRA
De l’automne 2023 jusqu’au début de 2024, le taux CORRA – qui sert de mesure du coût du financement à un jour en dollars canadiens sur le marché général des pensions – a sans cesse dépassé de loin le taux cible du financement à un jour de la Banque du Canada. Nous constatons que les positions acheteur sur obligations financées sur le marché des pensions étaient le principal vecteur de pressions à la hausse en cause, parmi plusieurs autres facteurs. -

Les banques réalisent-elles des pertes simultanées sur leurs activités de négociation parce qu’elles investissent dans les mêmes actifs ou parce que les divers actifs dans lesquels elles investissent sont soumis aux mêmes chocs macroéconomiques? Dans la présente étude, je décompose les covariations des pertes des banques en deux canaux orthogonaux : les chevauchements de portefeuilles et les chocs communs. -

Enquête sur les perspectives des entreprises – Troisième trimestre de 2023
Selon les résultats de l’enquête sur les perspectives des entreprises du troisième trimestre de 2023, et ceux des enquêtes Le Pouls des entrepreneurs de juillet, août et septembre 2023, les entreprises ont encore généralement l’intention de procéder à des augmentations de prix plus grandes et plus fréquentes qu’avant la pandémie de COVID 19. Les perspectives des entreprises quant à la demande ont continué de s’affaiblir, les effets des hausses de taux d’intérêt se faisant maintenant sentir dans l’économie.
