Stratégie d’entreprise, compétitivité et productivité : le cas du Canada
À un moment où la Banque anticipe un déplacement de la demande vers les exportations et les investissements et où des tendances transformatrices à l’échelle mondiale confèrent une importance croissante à l’innovation, à la technologie et à l’apprentissage organisationnel, la compréhension des stratégies de compétitivité des entreprises canadiennes revêt un intérêt particulier. Cet article résume les résultats d’une enquête menée par la Banque du Canada auprès de 151 firmes afin de dégager les signes indicateurs des éléments présents dans les stratégies des entreprises et le capital organisationnel dans le but d’éclairer les perspectives macroéconomiques. -

La modélisation des risques pesant sur le système financier

Housing Affordability and Parental Income Support
Dans plusieurs pays, les prix des logements ont augmenté beaucoup plus rapidement que les revenus, ce qui a entraîné une crise de l’accès au logement. En exploitant des données canadiennes au niveau des prêts et la variation quasi expérimentale générée par les contraintes fondées sur le ratio du service de la dette hypothécaire, nous constatons que les accédants à la propriété ont de plus en plus recours à la cosignature de leurs parents pour l’obtention d’un prêt hypothécaire. Nous montrons que cette aide financière parentale peut être un moyen efficace de pallier les contraintes d’accès au crédit, et ce, potentiellement même pour les emprunteurs plus à risque.
