Rapport annuel 2011
L’année 2011 a été éprouvante pour l’économie mondiale. Dans ce contexte de turbulence à l’échelle du globe, le cadre de politique macroéconomique du Canada nous a permis de faire face. Le Rapport annuel 2011 comprend un message du gouverneur, souligne les principales réalisations de l’année, décrit la gouvernance de la Banque et présente les états financiers conjointement avec le rapport de gestion. -

Découverte des prix sur le marché des changes et lieu d'origine des transactions
Le processus continu de découverte des prix sur les marchés de change fournit une information précieuse à certains acteurs du marché. D'après de récentes analyses empiriques, les mesures globales du flux d'ordres contiennent de l'information sur la valeur fondamentale du taux de change. S'inspirant d'une approche fondée sur la microstructure du marché, D'Souza étudie les transactions exécutées sur les marchés du dollar canadien et du dollar australien durant une période de deux ans dans le but d'examiner la relation entre les rendements du taux de change et les opérations amorcées dans divers lieux géographiques. À la lumière de l'information véhiculée par ces transactions, il conclut que le lieu de transaction et les heures d'activité sont deux des facteurs qui déterminent les transactions des courtiers intermédiaires informés. -

Le nouveau Modèle trimestriel de prévision (MTP) de la Banque du Canada : un aperçu
L'article donne un aperçu des principales caractéristiques du Modèle trimestriel de prévision (MTP), un nouveau modèle économique dont l'élaboration a été entreprise en 1989 à la Banque du Canada. Le modèle a été conçu avec un objectif double. Premièrement, il sert à la préparation de projections économiques par le personnel de la Banque. Effectuées tous les trimestres à la Banque, les projections économiques constituent une importante base pour les discussions sur la politique monétaire entre les économistes et la Haute Direction. Deuxièmement, le modèle est conçu comme un outil de recherche qui sera mis à contribution dans l'analyse des changements importants que subissent l'économie et les politiques macroéconomiques, ceux-ci nécessitant une connaissance plus approfondie connaissance plus approfondie des facteurs qui influent sur l'équilibre à long terme, tels que la richesse, le stock de capital, la dette publique et les actifs étrangers nets. -

Le volet « banque » de la Banque du Canada
Cet article décrit les différents types de services bancaires (paiement, règlement et garde) que la Banque du Canada offre à diverses catégories de clients (le gouvernement du Canada, les infrastructures de marchés financiers, les institutions financières, les banques centrales étrangères et la Société d’assurance-dépôts du Canada). Les auteurs expliquent les raisons pour lesquelles la Banque fournit ces services et comment cette prestation contribue à la réalisation de ses grandes fonctions, en particulier en ce qui a trait à la stabilité financière.
