La mesure dans laquelle les débiteurs utilisent les services d'un agent de compensation à l'équilibre pour régler leurs paiements, c'est-à-dire le degré de participation indirecte au système, est déterminée de façon endogène par la structure de coûts et la structure informationnelle. -
Limiting Sender’s Information in Bayesian Persuasion
Dans cette étude, j’examine comment le résultat de la persuasion dans un jeu bayésien dépend de l’information dont dispose un expéditeur. Pour ce faire, je considère un jeu dans lequel, avant que l’expéditeur ne transmette la moindre information, le concepteur est autorisé à limiter le contenu du signal le plus porteur d’information que l’expéditeur peut générer. -
A Spatial Model of Bank Branches in Canada
À partir de données sur l’emplacement des succursales bancaires au Canada couvrant la période de 2008 à 2018, nous étudions la concurrence entre les banques sous un angle intéressant, soit celui de la concentration géographique. Nous concluons qu’il n’y a pas de corrélation entre la densité des succursales bancaires et la concentration géographique et de marché. Toutefois, nous constatons que cette densité est fortement corrélée aux caractéristiques sociodémographiques des territoires de code postal. -

Crowdfunding and Risk
Le financement participatif peut permettre à des produits uniques d’être mis en marché. Je modélise une technologie de financement participatif qui fait une analyse publique de la demande des consommateurs dès le début du processus de production. Dans ce modèle, les entrepreneurs aiment ce type de financement pour des projets risqués caractérisés par une demande variable, mais pas pour de gros projets sûrs ni lorsque les coûts de production sont incertains. -

L’année qui vient de s’écouler a été riche en défis pour tous les Canadiens. Le ralentissement de l’économie mondiale s’est accentué au fil des mois, ce qui a eu des répercussions sur les ménages, les entreprises et les gouvernements. Puis, la tragédie du 11 septembre est venue aggraver les difficultés économiques auxquelles nous faisions tous face. La Banque s’est acquittée de ses responsabilités en réagissant promptement et énergiquement à une situation qui évoluait rapidement, afin d’étayer la confiance et de soutenir l’économie.
