Nous nous concentrons sur les arriérés de paiement de prêts hypothécaires assurés, en raison de leurs grandes répercussions sur les institutions financières ainsi que sur le risque d’activité et les pratiques de gestion afférentes des assureurs. -

Le marché canadien du financement à un jour : évolution récente et changements structurels
Plusieurs facteurs importants ont eu une incidence sur la structure et la dynamique du marché canadien du financement à un jour depuis la dernière analyse qu'en a publiée la Banque du Canada, en 1997. Reid propose un survol des caractéristiques actuelles du marché, où il traite tour à tour des instruments financiers qui s'y négocient, de la transparence du marché et des flux de transactions, et de l'évolution qu'a connue le taux des prêts à un jour garantis depuis l'instauration du Système de transfert de paiements de grande valeur et l'introduction d'un régime de dates préétablies pour l'annonce des décisions relatives au taux directeur. Parmi les autres facteurs qui ont eu une influence non négligeable figurent l'adoption de nouvelles pratiques de gestion des risques, l'augmentation des prêts de titres, l'accroissement de la demande de garanties et les mesures prises par la Banque pour renforcer la cible relative au taux du financement à un jour. -
Analysis of Asymmetric GARCH Volatility Models with Applications to Margin Measurement
Nous étudions les propriétés de modèles asymétriques d’hétéroscédasticité conditionnelle autorégressive généralisée (GARCH) de la famille des modèles GARCH à seuil (TGARCH) et proposons un modèle TGARCH à fonction spline plus général où les termes de l’hétéroscédasticité conditionnelle autorégressive (ARCH) et généralisée rendent compte de la volatilité des rendements de variables à forte fréquence, de la volatilité des variables macroéconomiques à faible fréquence et de la réaction asymétrique aux nouvelles défavorables passées. -
