L'endettement du secteur privé au Canada: un examen macroéconomique
Cette étude examine l'hypothèse du surendettement du secteur privé, selon laquelle les ménages et les entreprises se trouvent en certaines circonstances surendettés et décident, pour cette raison, de réduire leurs dettes en diminuant leurs dépenses. Nous tentons de déterminer si cette hypothèse peut contribuer à expliquer la faiblesse de la croissance du crédit et l'atonie de la récente reprise économique au Canada. -

Optimal Monetary and Macroprudential Policies
La coordination optimale des politiques monétaire et macroprudentielle comporte une pondération des risques plus élevée pour les obligations (sûres) lorsque les banques doivent détenir des réserves de fonds propres supplémentaires. Elle implique aussi un certain durcissement de la politique monétaire quand ces réserves sont mobilisées. -
To Link or Not To Link? Netting and Exposures Between Central Counterparties
Dans leur étude, les auteurs proposent un cadre permettant de comparer des modèles de compensation par contrepartie centrale (CC) selon que ces entités sont - ou non - interreliées, en évaluant, d’une part, la réduction des positions nettes obtenue par les participants au marché et, d’autre part, la totalité des expositions au risque de défaut présentes à l’échelle du système, qui existent entre CC et participants. -

Canada’s Experience with Trade Policy
Cette étude propose une lecture contemporaine de trois grandes politiques de commerce extérieur pilotées par les autorités canadiennes qui ont marqué l’histoire économique du Canada depuis la Confédération : la Politique nationale (1879), l’Accord canado-américain sur les produits de l’industrie automobile (Pacte de l’automobile de 1965) et l’Accord de libre-échange entre le Canada et les États-Unis (l’Accord de libre-échange de 1989 et son prolongement, à savoir l’Accord de libre-échange nord-américain, ou ALENA, de 1994).
