Le renouvellement du Fonds monétaire international : examen des enjeux
Compte tenu de l'intégration rapide et continue de l'économie à l'échelle du globe, le Fonds monétaire international doit rénover son rôle, sa structure de gouvernance et ses fonctions pour conserver sa pertinence comme institution chargée de la promotion de la stabilité financière mondiale. Lecavalier et Santor examinent divers chantiers de réforme possibles, dont : les quotes-parts, les droits de vote et la représentation; la gouvernance interne; la surveillance; les instruments de prêt; les finances; et le rôle du Fonds dans les pays à faible revenu. Ils passent également en revue les recherches qu'effectue la Banque du Canada à l'appui des efforts de réforme entrepris, notamment celles consacrées récemment à la définition d'un cadre intégré pour les activités de surveillance du Fonds. -
