Les auteurs étudient l'interdépendance des politiques budgétaire et monétaire au moyen d'un modèle d'équilibre général dynamique et stochastique à prix rigides et taux d'inflation tendanciel non nul. Les politiques en question sont caractérisées par une règle selon laquelle une fraction k de la dette publique doit être garantie par la valeur actualisée des excédents primaires présents et futurs, et la fraction restante par les revenus de seigneuriage. -

'auteur cherche à évaluer le rôle joué par l'agrégat M1 dans un modèle indicateur servant à la prévision du taux d'inflation sur un horizon pouvant aller jusqu'à seize trimestres. -

L’étude analyse l’incidence qu’exerce la répartition des pertes résiduelles sur le volume de transactions et le bien-être des participants d’une contrepartie centrale. Deux mécanismes de répartition des pertes sont comparés, soit l’application de décotes aux plus-values sur marge de variation et les appels de fonds. -

MUSE, le nouveau modèle de projection de l’économie américaine utilisé par la Banque du Canada
Les projections préparées par le personnel en vue d'alimenter les délibérations de la Banque sur la politique monétaire tiennent compte de la très forte intégration de l'économie canadienne au sein de l'économie mondiale ainsi que de ses liens financiers et réels étroits avec l'économie américaine. En appui à ces projections, la Banque a mis au point plusieurs modèles pour étudier et prévoir l'évolution de l'économie dans le reste du monde. Les auteurs s'attachent plus particulièrement à MUSE, le modèle qui sert à l'heure actuelle à décrire les interactions entre les principales variables macroéconomiques américaines, telles que le produit intérieur brut, l'inflation, les taux d'intérêt et le taux de change. L'article présente également un survol des modèles NEUQ et BOC-GEM. -
Consumer Credit with Over-optimistic Borrowers
Lorsque les prêteurs ne sont pas en mesure de savoir d’emblée si un emprunteur a des biais cognitifs ou s’il est rationnel, ils utilisent un système de pointage pour déterminer avec quelle probabilité son comportement ira dans un sens ou dans l’autre. Cela entraîne un regroupement partiel des emprunteurs et signifie que les emprunteurs rationnels financent les coûts d’emprunt de ceux ayant des biais. Cette approche réduit, par le fait même, l’efficacité des politiques réglementaires qui ciblent les erreurs commises par les emprunteurs biaisés.
