Rapport sur la politique monétaire – Juillet 2010
La reprise économique se poursuit à l’échelle du globe mais n’est pas encore autosuffi sante. L’importance plus grande accordée à l’assainissement des bilans des ménages, des banques et des gouvernements dans certaines économies avancées devrait modérer le rythme de la croissance mondiale par rapport à celui que la Banque prévoyait en avril. -

Finance Constraints and Inventory Investment: Empirical Tests with Panel Data
L'auteure teste empiriquement deux aspects de l'interaction entre les investissements en stocks et les variables financières, à savoir le comportement de ceux-ci en présence, d'une part, de flux de trésorerie négatifs et, d'autre part, de contraintes de financement dues à une asymétrie d'information entre emprunteur et prêteur. -

Le Système de transfert de paiements de grande valeur : aperçu de quelques travaux de recherche menés à la Banque du Canada
S'intéressant de près à la sûreté et à l'efficience des principaux systèmes de compensation et de règlement, la Banque du Canada poursuit un programme de recherche rigoureux afin d'éclairer les activités de surveillance et d'élaboration de politiques relatives aux systèmes de paiement. Dans cet article, Arjani et Engert font le point sur les travaux que le personnel de la Banque a menés récemment concernant l'efficience du Système de transfert de paiements de grande valeur (STPGV) et les risques que celui-ci présente. En se fondant sur le fruit de ces recherches, les auteurs concluent que la conception du STPGV respecte un bon équilibre entre risque et efficience. L'article illustre aussi le recours croissant aux analyses par simulation pour l'étude des systèmes de paiement. Il comprend en outre un bref résumé de la stratégie de la Banque en matière de surveillance des systèmes de paiement d'importance systémique et expose les objectifs de la recherche dans l'avenir, dont la modélisation du comportement des participants et la poursuite de la collaboration avec des chercheurs de l'extérieur. -

Revue de la Banque du Canada - Automne 2012
Cette livraison renferme quatre articles où sont décrites les recherches et les analyses du personnel de la Banque du Canada. Le premier traite des taxes sur les transactions financières; le second, du rôle des contreparties centrales sur les marchés de gré à gré; le troisième, de la politique monétaire et du canal de la prise de risque, envisagé sous l’angle du comportement de prêteur des banques. Le quatrième article présente les conclusions de travaux sur l’utilisation des instruments de paiement de détail et aborde les effets que les innovations dans ce domaine pourraient avoir à long terme sur le recours au numéraire.

Cette étude met en évidence les propriétés des titres du gouvernement du Canada dans les transactions du marché au comptant, les opérations de pension et les prêts de titres au fil de leur cycle de vie. En suivant tous les titres depuis leur émission jusqu’à leur échéance, nous sommes en mesure de faire ressortir les interrelations entre les marchés au comptant et les marchés de titres particuliers. -

Revue de la Banque du Canada - Printemps 2017
Pour certains, la quatrième révolution industrielle est imminente à l’échelle de l’économie mondiale. Dans la présente livraison, des chercheurs de la Banque s’intéressent aux répercussions possibles de la numérisation de l’économie de même qu’aux questions suivantes : l’efficacité de certaines mesures de politique monétaire non traditionnelles dans une petite économie ouverte, l’utilisation des obligations du gouvernement du Canada tout au long de leur cycle de vie, ainsi que la façon dont les six grandes banques canadiennes choisissent leurs stratégies de financement et les raisons qui justifient ces choix. Le dernier article traite de la lente croissance de l’investissement des entreprises.
