Le point sur le taux d’intérêt neutre
Le taux d’intérêt neutre sert d’indice de référence pour évaluer le degré de détente monétaire et représente un point d’arrimage à moyen et à long terme pour le taux directeur réel. Les estimations du taux neutre mondial sont en recul depuis quelques décennies. Sous l’influence de facteurs comme le vieillissement démographique, la forte épargne des sociétés et la faible croissance tendancielle de la productivité, le taux neutre mondial continuera vraisemblablement de se maintenir à un bas niveau. Ces facteurs internationaux, de même que des facteurs nationaux, exercent des pressions à la baisse sur le taux neutre réel canadien, qui s’inscrit dans une fourchette estimative allant de 0,5 à 1,5 %. Ce bas niveau a d’importantes conséquences pour la politique monétaire et la stabilité financière.

Downward Nominal Wage Rigidity in Canada: Evidence from Micro- Level Data
Nous évaluons l’importance de la rigidité à la baisse des salaires nominaux au Canada au moyen de microdonnées sur les entreprises et la main-d’oeuvre. Plus précisément, nous analysons les données administratives des Grands règlements salariaux, obtenues auprès d’employeurs, ainsi que les données de l’Enquête sur la dynamique du travail et du revenu, recueillies auprès des ménages. -

Revue de la Banque du Canada - Automne 2015
Dans cette livraison, les chercheurs de la Banque s’intéressent à la reprise modérée qui a succédé à la crise financière de 2007-2009 et à ses causes possibles. Leurs analyses portent également sur la nouvelle enquête relative aux anticipations des ménages, sur la mesure des prix des biens durables et des logements dans l’IPC et sur les incidences des modifications réglementaires sur les cadres de conduite de la politique monétaire. Le dernier article concerne les améliorations apportées à la gestion des réserves de change du Canada. -
