Nous présentons un nouveau modèle de défaillance des entreprises, un des fondements de l’infrastructure de la Banque du Canada permettant de soumettre les banques à des tests de résistance. Le modèle est utilisé pour prévoir les pertes sur prêts aux entreprises que le secteur bancaire canadien est susceptible de subir en période de tension. -
Quel est l’impact du bilan de la Banque du Canada sur le système bancaire?
Nous examinons comment l’évolution du bilan de la Banque du Canada influe sur le système bancaire. L’assouplissement quantitatif a fait grossir le bilan du système bancaire et a amélioré le ratio de liquidité à court terme des banques. Le resserrement quantitatif devrait neutraliser une partie de ces effets. Il sera nécessaire que le système bancaire adapte sa gestion de la liquidité. -

La négociation de titres à revenu fixe et les interventions des banques centrales
Nous présentons les grandes lignes du modèle théorique d’achat d’actifs par les banques centrales qui a été élaboré dans le cadre de l’étude de Cimon et Walton (2022). Ce modèle nous aide à comprendre comment les achats d’actifs atténuent les pressions subies par les courtiers afin de rétablir les conditions du marché en période de crise. -
Quantum Monte Carlo for Economics: Stress Testing and Macroeconomic Deep Learning
À l’aide de l’algorithme quantique de Monte-Carlo, nous cherchons à savoir si l’informatique quantique peut réduire le temps d’exécution des applications économiques. Nous appliquons l’algorithme à deux modèles : un test de résistance bancaire et un modèle DSGE résolu en recourant à l’apprentissage profond. Nous présentons aussi quelques innovations de notre cru, au sein même de l’algorithme et dans la méthode employée pour le comparer à sa version classique. -
Unregulated Lending, Mortgage Regulations and Monetary Policy
Dans cette étude, nous évaluons l’efficacité des politiques macroprudentielles lorsqu’il y a des différences de réglementation d’un type de prêteurs hypothécaires à l’autre. Nous nous penchons sur le resserrement des conditions du crédit qui résulte des réglementations macroprudentielles et examinons dans quelle mesure celui-ci est contrebalancé par un déplacement de la demande de crédit vers les prêteurs non réglementés. Nous étudions également l’incidence d’un resserrement de la politique monétaire quand certains prêteurs ne sont soumis à aucune réglementation. -

Nous examinons si un élargissement de la compensation centrale renforcerait la résilience du marché canadien des titres à revenu fixe. Nous évaluons pour cela les avantages que pourrait apporter la compensation des positions du bilan dans des situations où la compensation centrale est élargie à de nouveaux participants.
