Le rôle des indicateurs de marché dans l’évaluation de la résilience des systèmes bancaires
Ce rapport examine l’emploi des outils quantitatifs servant à appréhender l’évaluation que font les participants au marché de la résilience du système bancaire. Ces instruments complètent les mesures traditionnelles de nature comptable et tendent à indiquer que les marchés jugent les grandes banques canadiennes mieux placées pour affronter les chocs négatifs que leurs homologues d’autres pays avancés. Cependant, lorsqu’on les compare aux ratios de fonds propres réglementaires, les indicateurs de marché font état d’une amélioration moins accentuée de la résilience du système bancaire depuis la période d’avant-crise. -

Projet Jasper : les systèmes de paiement de gros décentralisés sont-ils aujourd’hui chose faisable?
Ce rapport décrit une action conjointe d’intervenants des secteurs public et privé visant à étudier un système de paiement de gros fondé sur la technologie du grand livre distribué. Il fait ressortir qu’un pur système à grand livre distribué est peu susceptible d’être aussi avantageux qu’un système de paiement centralisé, sur le plan des coûts d’exploitation de base, mais que son intégration dans l’environnement plus large des infrastructures de marchés financiers pourrait accroître l’efficience du système financier.

Le cycle de vie des obligations du gouvernement du Canada sur les marchés de financement essentiels
Les données dont nous disposons sur l’utilisation des titres d’État au sein du marché des pensions, du marché des prêts de titres et du marché au comptant tendent à montrer qu’il existe des clientèles distinctes sur le marché obligataire canadien. Les obligations à court terme sont plus présentes sur le marché des pensions, alors que les instruments à long terme sont davantage utilisés sur le marché des prêts de titres. Ce constat, qui conforte la théorie de l’habitat préféré, pourrait aider à améliorer la stratégie de gestion de la dette ainsi que l’efficacité des politiques contribuant à la préservation du bon fonctionnement des marchés financiers.
